WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 28, 2026) — DC Power Football Club continue their travels on the road this Saturday, August 29 facing Lexington SC for their third match of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST at Lexington SC Stadium, Kentucky. DC Power currently sit in fourth place of the Super League standings, tied at three points with third place, Lexington SC.
DC Power FC enter the matchup coming off their first win of the season in last week’s game against Brooklyn FC on August 21. A quick double from midfielder Emma Jaskaniec and forward Loza Abera put Power up 2-0 in the first ten minutes. In the second half, DC continued pushing forward and earned a penalty in the 59th minute, converted by forward Tyler Lussi. Brooklyn’s first goal of the season came through defender Jordan Thompson, but it was not enough to mount a comeback as Abera scored her second of the night in the 81st minute to put away the game. Coach Omid Namazi’s side moved to 1-1-0, maintaining their strong away form in New York.
Lexington SC are coming from a bye week, not having played in the second matchday of the season. Their opening match was a 3-0 win against Brooklyn FC at home on August 15. Lexington struck three times in the second half, with goals coming from forwards Catherine Barry, Addie McCain, and Hannah White. The defending champions retained their attacking threat over the offseason as Lexington had three of the top five goalscorers from last season, with Barry taking first place with 17 goals.
Saturday’s match is the eighth meeting between DC Power and Lexington SC and the first of the Fall 2026 Super League Season. DC Power’s all-time regular season record against Lexington is 1-3-3, with eight goals scored and 13 conceded. The last meeting between both clubs was on April 1, 2026, where Lexington came away with a 2-0 victory in Washington DC. Both goals were scored by Barry in the team’s championship run. DC is looking for their first win in the series since the pair’s first encounter in 2024, aiming to use their momentum and earn another three points on the road.
