DC Power Football Club Post-Match Quotes
Head Coach Omid Namazi
On DC Power FC’s 0-2 shutout win…
“Getting a goal early helped us settle in and play a very good first half, adding another goal to go into the locker room at half up 2-0,” Namazi said. “Then it was about our defending and fight which we have talked about a lot. Kudos to the team, they fought all night and made it happen for themselves. We’ll need to continue down this path during this stretch run and play our brand of soccer but fight when we have to.”
Forward Alyssa Walker
On D.C.’s composure in the second half to seal the win…
“Our focus for the match was intensity and our mental fortitude,” Walker said. “There were moments in the second half that the energy shifted towards them, but since we were able to be clinical in the first half it gave us some wiggle room. Tampa is a physical team and have always had a high work rate. Our goal was to outrun, out work, out fight and that’s what we did until the end.”
Midfielder Dasia Torbert
On the message to the team ahead of the match to fuel the early edge…
“We took this one personal and every game after this,” Torbert said. “We play hard and play for each other. We fight for everything. We have deserved so much more out of this season and will continue fighting for our spot in playoffs.”
