WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 18, 2026) – DC Power Football Club return home this Friday, September 18 to face Tampa Bay Sun FC in their sixth match of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at Audi Field. DC Power are currently third with seven points in the Super League standings, level on points with Tampa Bay Sun FC, who have a game in hand.
DC Power FC are coming off a 2-1 road loss to Dallas Trinity FC on Sunday, September 13 at Cotton Bowl Stadium, their first defeat away from home this season. Dallas broke through in the 42nd minute when forward Onyeka Gamero pounced on a rebound after goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti saved a shot from forward Seven Castain. Forward Jasmine Hamid doubled the lead in the 56th minute, rounding Cappelletti after being played in behind the DC back line. Power pulled one back in the 66th minute when defender Susanna Fitch crossed for forward Alyssa Walker, whose header deflected in off Dallas defender Meila Brewer for an own goal. DC pushed for a late equalizer but could not find it.
Tampa Bay Sun FC arrive in the District on a two-match winning streak after a 2-1 comeback win over Fort Lauderdale United FC in their home opener on Saturday, September 12 at Suncoast Credit Union Field. Forward Sh’nia Gordon put Fort Lauderdale ahead in the 24th minute, and a power outage delayed the start of the second half. Forward Tori Zierenberg leveled the match in the 64th minute, one minute after coming off the bench, on an assist from forward Sydny Nasello. In the 80th minute, forward Shea Connors finished a pass from defender Sabrina McNeill for the winner.
Friday’s match is the eighth meeting between DC Power and Tampa Bay Sun FC and the first of two this Fall Season. DC Power’s all-time regular season record against Tampa Bay is 1-4-2, with three goals scored and nine conceded. The last meeting between both clubs was on April 11, 2026, and ended in a 2-0 DC Power win at Suncoast Credit Union Field, the club’s first-ever victory over the Sun, with goals coming from Alyssa Walker and midfielder Dasia Torbert. DC is looking for their first home win of the Fall Season to stay in the top four of the Super League standings.
