DC POWER FC POST-MATCH QUOTES
Head Coach Omid Namazi
Q: In the first half, your team played a lot in the opponent’s half. What are the positives you take from that?
A: “Yeah, that’s our aim — that’s our goal, to push the game into the attacking half and keep it there. But from there we need to create opportunities, and those come in different variations — you can attack the central channels, go wide and provide crosses, or work set pieces, and we scored one off of one.”
Q: Are you satisfied with the result tonight, given you’d talked about ending the trend of dropping points at home?
A: “I can’t be satisfied with the result. Is it better than a loss? Yes, it’s a point, but it’s disappointing to drop two points, and now with Dallas winning, they get ahead of us, and we have to fight. Good thing we have a game on Tuesday — hopefully we can win that and gain our spot back.”
Defender Sarah McCoy
Q: You’ve been out for the first part of the season — how did it feel to finally put on the jersey and get out there today?
A: “It was so special. I’m really grateful to this team and the coaching staff for believing in me and picking me up when I was injured. It’s been a long few months, but this team’s been really supportive, and it’s been really great to be back in training fully. My first game back, I played 90 minutes, so it felt good.”
Midfielder Emma Jaskaniec
Q: You came on and immediately scored — what was that like?
A: “I’ve got to give a lot of credit, like I said on the broadcast, to Alyssa Walker. It was her first touch of the game, and my first touch of the game — she came on and won the first ball, and I was there to pick up the second. My back was to goal, and I thought, I’m just going to try, got to be gritty, and it went in. I think it was huge for the girls, and I think just coming off the bench and being able to have an impact shows that no matter what your role is on the team, you can have an impact in a game.”
