DC Power Football Club Post-Match Quotes
Head Coach Omid Namazi
On the need to play freer in the final three matches of the Fall season…
“Going forward, we need to make sure that we feel confident,” Namazi said. “I told them, we lost the game but let’s put it out of our minds. We have to have a short memory because we have a game in a few weekends and we’ve proved that we can go on the road and get the points. I’m hoping that gets their attention and hopefully we can go out and play with a lot more freedom, confidence and just our heads up being able to connect passes.”
Forward Gianna Gourley
On how to regroup and focus on the upcoming road matches following tonight’s result…
“We will go into training and continue to give it our all,” Gourley said. “We need to learn from this game but also put it behind us and continue to hone in on our game model and what we know we can do. Just playing a full 90 and putting it all together will help us to break through.”
Midfielder Dasia Torbert
On the positives from the match…
“The biggest thing is how we rally around each other even when moments get really frantic,” Torbert said. “As Gianna said, there were a few back-to-back passes where we weren’t connecting and we would look towards our teammates close by for that quick encouragement and that lock in. We’re strong on that, now we need to push it through the lines across the field, so everyone feels connected in those moments.”
