DC Power Football Club Post-Match Quotes
Head Coach Omid Namazi
On the response from Power FC after being down 2-0…
“The response was great, we just can’t put ourselves in that situation and we’ve done that a couple of times this season,” Namazi said. “Luckily, in the past we’ve come out with some points. This time it didn’t go our way, and I think we deserve more from the way we played in the second half. In the end, our play needs to be more consistent from the get-go all the way to the end of the game and we haven’t put two good halves together yet. That’s something that we need to talk about. We need to go back to training, figure things out and make sure we’re better.”
On next steps ahead of Power FC’s upcoming home match against Sporting Jax…
“We have to learn our lessons from the games where we’ve dropped points at home and make sure our play is more consistent throughout both halves and come up with wins at home,” Namazi said. “If we can do that, we’re right back at the top of the standings.”
Defender Madison Murnin
On scoring the 49th-minute equalizer and her first Power FC goal…
“It was a great opportunity, and I just want to contribute to this team and do everything I can to help us win,” Murnin said. “It was a great feeling to come on and be a game changer and get that equalizer for the team.”
On the team’s chemistry and its impact on the pitch against Carolina Ascent FC…
“We have a really good group of girls this year,” Murnin said. “We’re all competing and have lots of depth. We’re building our chemistry every week and just need to put together a full 90, finish our chances and we’ll be good.”
