WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 4, 2026) — DC Power Football Club return home to Audi Field this Friday, September 4th facing an undefeated side in Sporting JAX in the fourth match of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST. DC Power are currently tied for second with Carolina Ascent FC at six points, trailing Sporting Jax by three points.
DC Power FC is coming off an impressive 2-1 win over Lexington SC last Saturday, August 29, with forward Loza Abera and midfielder Emily Colton finding the back of the net. Abera scored her third goal of the season off a penalty kick rebound in the second minute of first half stoppage time. This marked her third goal of the campaign, with Abera now tied with teammate Gianna Gourley as DC Power’s all-time leading goalscorer (15). DC Power entered the half up 1-0 and Colton made it 2-0 to the visitors in the 68th minute, marking her first goal of the season. The match would end 2-1, with Lexington scoring in late stoppage time. DC outshot Lexington 19-13 and had a better tackle success rate of 78.6% compared to 53.8% for the home side. After the win, DC Power FC are tied for second place in the standings and look to take on a strong Sporting JAX side who sits in first place unbeaten in three matches.
Sporting JAX are coming off a 2-0 win over Dallas Trinity FC this past Saturday, August 29 when forward Baylee DeSmit added her league leading fourth goal of the campaign. Although Dallas held more possession, Sporting JAX were able to find the back of the net twice through DeSmith and forward Sophia Boman. They outshot Dallas 14-6 and continue their unbeaten streak, putting them top of the table with nine points. Goalkeeper Jaime Gerstenberg leads the league in clean sheets (2) while defender Grace Phillpotts leads the league in crosses (18).
Saturday’s match is the fifth meeting between DC Power and Sporting JAX, with the last match going Sporting Jax’s way 1-0 on May 6, 2026. DC Power’s all-time regular season record against Jacksonville is 2-2-0, with four goals scored and three goals conceded. DC will be looking for their third win in the series to bring them to the top of the table.
