WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 20, 2026) — DC Power Football Club travel to New York this Friday, August 21 for their first away match of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season against Brooklyn FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST at Maimonides Park, New York.
DC Power FC opened their season this past Saturday at Audi Field, falling to last season’s finalists, Carolina Ascent FC, in a 1-0 match. A 35th minute header from midfielder Mia Corbin put Carolina ahead in a contest where DC held the upper hand in possession and shots. A tying goal by Kayla Colbert was called offside in the 75th minute in the forward’s professional debut. Power will look to be aggressive and clinical in their matchup against Brooklyn to claim their first victory of the Fall season.
Brooklyn FC also began their campaign with a 3-0 loss on the road against defending champions, Lexington SC this past Saturday, August 15. Lexington struck three times in the second half, with forwards Catherine Barry and Addie McCain each scoring in quick succession in the 58th and 61st minutes. Brooklyn midfielder Jillian Shimkin hit the crossbar with a right-footed volley in the 81st minute, just one minute before Hannah White put Lexington three ahead with a one time shot into the top right corner.
Friday’s match is the eighth meeting between DC Power and Brooklyn FC, with DC holding a 3-2-2 all-time series record with both teams tied at seven goals scored against. DC forward Gianna Gourley holds the team scoring record against Brooklyn with three goals in five career appearances and she returns to the squad after missing the season opener due to injury. The last meeting between both clubs was on March 7, 2026, with Power claiming a 2-0 victory in New York from returning forwards Alyssa Walker and Loza Abera. DC will look to come away with three points on the road and build momentum early in the season.
